Get experience as a Scrum Master or a Product owner
through the Silicon Valley Scrum
Apprentice program.

Apprentices form Scrum teams to create products for not-for-profit organizations. They do this with support and coaching from Fred Fowler, a PSM III level Professional Scrum Master with almost 20 years of Scrum experience. He provides daily personalized coaching sessions from the time the Apprentices enter the program through the successful delivery of the products.
Applicants must be interviewed and accepted by Fred Fowler before they are enrolled. There is a one-time fee of $499.95 due upon enrollment.
Scrum Apprentice Program content:
Fred Fowler will provide daily coaching to help Apprentice develop and deliver products successfully.
Phase 1
- Apprentice Scrum Master / Product Owner team is formed.
- A not-for-profit organization with a need is located and chosen.
- The Product Owner works with the not-for-profit to create an initial Product Backlog
- Scrum Master and Product Owner recruit an initial group of developers.
- Scrum Master, Product Owner and Developers perform Prouct Backlog Refinement.
Phase 2
- Team starts and completes first production Sprint.
- Team continues Sprinting until the product is delivered to the not-for-profit customer
Tools
- The Product Backlog and Sprint Backlogs will be managed using the "Teams, Products, Backlogs and Sprints" or TPBS system. (aka. "Scrum Training Wheels").
Cost
- Apprentice Scrum Masters and Product Owners pay a flat fee of $499.95 due upon enrollment.
- Developers may participate free of charge.
References
- Apprentices and developers who deliver products successfully will earn letters of recommendation attesting to the successful role they played.

The Scrum Apprentice program provides an opportunity to earn REAL-WORLD EXPERIENCE using the Scrum Framework to create products for not-for-profit organizations.
Fred Fowler coaches Scrum Master/Product Owner pairs to create product backlogs, recruit developer teams and create REAL PRODUCTS benefitting worthy causes. This experience can be shown on resumes and Fred Fowler will give letters of recommendation to successful participants.
The number of participants able to join the program is limited. To be cpnsidered you must join a waiting list
